Mapping the world, one line of code at a time...
OpenGeo is growing quickly and is poised for incredible success. If you want to devote your talents to building a truly open geospatial web, liberating data, and increasing government transparency, we want to hear from you.
Working at OpenGeo
Our employees enjoy competitive salaries, flexible hours, the option to work remotely, five weeks paid vacation, free lunch, great health/dental benefits, and a 401k plan with employer matching. But ask anyone at OpenGeo their favorite thing about their job, and they will give you one answer: their coworkers. We have a truly amazing team of passionate, creative, and incredibly bright people.
OpenGeo employees also enjoy using their talent to do something good. We are all invested in the success of the organization and excited by OpenGeo’s potential. Creativity is encouraged at OpenGeo, and great ideas are given a chance to thrive. Work with us, and see the impact of your work in the world around you. Feel free to explore the site and learn more about OpenGeo.
How we’re different
OpenGeo seeks to blur the boundaries between a company and a non-profit, drawing from the best of both worlds. Our primary aim is to do good in the world, but we support ourselves by acting like a traditional company.
Like many internet startups, we have an “angel” investor who funds us and helps us grow. But unlike a traditional company, OpenGeo profits will all be reinvested and used for starting new “dot org” ventures to increase collaboration and transparency in the world. OpenGeo is currently a division of the 501(c)(3) foundation, The Open Planning Project.
