Andreas Hocevar
Geospatial Solutions Engineer
Andreas made first contact with geospatial software 15 years ago as a student of Urban and Regional Planning at the Vienna University of Technology. Starting as desktop GIS user, he developed plugins for better thematic mapping as part of his master's thesis. After some years working as a planner, he went back to geospatial software.
As a core committer to OpenLayers, he is known for contributing major improvements to vector rendering and for integrating OpenLayers into Mapbuilder. As a founding PSC member of GeoExt he is involved in creating a rich collection of web mapping widgets based on the Open Geospatial Consortium's standards. Andreas also shares his knowledge teaching at the Vienna University of Technology, speaking at conferences, or training clients.
