Software Developer
Matt first made heavy use of desktop GIS and raster analysis software while completing a master's degree in rangeland ecology from Texas A&M University. After working as a part-time field biologist / part-time cartographer and GIS manager for a small wildlife consultancy outside of Austin, TX; he began focusing on application development and desktop GIS customization. By 2007 these experiences lead to him specializing in geospatial web app development full-time. He works in a variety of programming languages, but is most happy when working with Javascript or Python. Matt has contributed to and been an active community participant of the OpenLayers, MapFish, and GeoExt projects. He is a strong advocate of open-source software in general and especially open-source geospatial software.
